Obsessed With Mobile Devices?

Have you ever thought how frequently a typical individual interacts with their mobile device? According to research from Dscout, Inc., the ordinary individual taps, pokes, pinch their device an astounding 2,617 times everyday. In total, it is about two hours and 25 minutes per day.

In 2016, CareerBuilder did a poll of over 2,000 executives and human resource directors, and found that smartphone use is the leading productivity killer at work. Another study, by the University of Texas and the University of California, found that even when workers had their phones on their desks — and not using them — their cognitive performance was lower versus when the device was in their pocket or purse. In short, mobile devices are both addictive and divert our attention.

A program called Moment can be installed on your iPhone and will tell you the total daily time spent on your device. The next version of Android phone operating system is reported to incorporate features that enable users to view how long they spend on their devices, which programs are used the most, and just how frequently the phone becomes unlocked.

More corporate managers have prohibited smartphone devices entirely in their team meetings. However, they report receiving pushback from their employee. And, the bans have not been overly successful as staffers wear smart watches or bring a laptop.
